SONGKHLA is an Eastern coastal province of the south of Thailand at the edge of the Gulf of Thailand. The province covers a surface of 7150 square kilometres. The provincial capital is with 950 kilometers in the south of Bangkok.
Songkhla was formerly known under the name of Singhala (a lion) by the merchants Indian, Persian and Arab because two small islands with broad, the island of the Cat and the island of the Rat, cover a leonine aspect sights of the sea.
