This paradisiac island is an alternative to the beaches of Thailand of the West coast during the season of rains.
With its 250 km2, Koh Samui is the third island of the country. It counts approximately 35 000 inhabitants for the majority of Chinese or Malayan origin.
The island is known for its immense plantations of coconuts which are the principal occupation of its inhabitants. With share beaches and rock formations of the coasts, interior of the island east also to be explored by the amateurs of tropical nature and water falls.
Like other tourist areas of Thailand, Koh Samui was not saved modernization necessary to the development of tourism of mass: it is connected today in Bangkok by a daily service air, which makes an international destination of it. The tiny local airport was fortunately built in perfect harmony with the atmosphere of the island.
