The recluse city in the western and Capital north provincial of the same name is only one large village. The city is known like the city of the three fogs, the clouds low wrapping the deadened municipality.
The city itself counts many temples and adorable pagodas of Burmese style, which mix perfectly with ambient peace.
Not far, settled mixed and varied tribal groups which venerate the sand valleys and the crowned cave where fish giant cats swim freely with the blessing of the local spirits.
The markets of the morning are particularly interesting. One can buy there not only current domestic ustensils and local foodstuffs, but also a whole selection of insects to be eaten, such as the locusts and the edges of ants...
Mae Hong Its is easily accessible from Chiang May by road or plane.
